On April 7, 2025, Rep. Neal participated in a public demonstration in South Hadley, where he stood with his constituents against potential federal changes to Social Security and other benefits. In his tweet, he stated, “This weekend, I joined hundreds of my constituents in South Hadley who stood up and made their voices heard. They want this administration and Elon Musk to keep their hands off of Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, veterans’ benefits, and more.”
Later that day, Neal criticized the current administration’s economic management, highlighting the negative impacts of tariff policies.
