University of Massachusetts junior attack Dylan Lyons was named the Mid-American Conference Women’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, according to a March 12 announcement from the league.
The recognition highlights Lyons’ recent performance and marks the fifth time this season that a member of the Minutewomen has received a weekly conference honor. Such awards underscore individual contributions to team success and bring attention to standout athletes within collegiate sports.
Lyons earned the accolade after recording three points in last week’s game against UConn, scoring two goals and providing one assist. She opened the match by netting the first two goals and contributed to three of UMass’s first four scores. Over the course of the season, Lyons is second on her team in goals with 16 and is tied for second in total points at 23.
The Minutewomen are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, March 14, when they begin their Mid-American Conference play at Youngstown State with a noon start time.
This latest honor continues a trend of strong performances by UMass players throughout the season.
