Four members of the University of Massachusetts tennis team were named to the 2026 Academic All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) Team, according to a May 18 announcement by the conference. Graduate student Renata Farima, senior Ella Faessler, junior Amelia Tye, and sophomore Martina Pavissich received the honor.
The recognition places these four athletes among a group of 39 women’s tennis student-athletes from across the MAC. Western Michigan led with seven honorees, followed by Northern Illinois with six. Ball State, Buffalo, and Toledo each had five student-athletes selected.
Earlier in the season, Farima, Faessler, Tye, and Pavissich were also named to the College Sports Communicators’ Academic All-District Team. The Academic All-MAC honor is given to student-athletes who have excelled both academically and athletically. Eligibility requires at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and participation in at least half of scheduled contests for their sport; first-year students and transfer students in their first year are not eligible.
Farima is pursuing her master’s degree in management and finished her season with an 11-4 singles record—including a 7-1 mark in conference play—while partnering with Faessler for doubles competition where they posted a combined record of 13-5 overall (6-2 MAC). Faessler is working toward her bachelor’s degree in biology; she played primarily at No. 1 singles with a record of 13-5 overall (7-1 MAC), matching those results alongside Farima as doubles partners.
Tye earned an undergraduate degree in marketing while recording an 11-7 singles mark—mainly at No. 2—and partnered with Amanda de Oliveira for doubles matches (8-7 overall). Pavissich is majoring in education and psychology; she went 15-4 as a singles player mostly at No.3 position (5-3 MAC) and paired with Madara Markevica for doubles where they finished with a record of 17-3.
