On Friday, March 20, the Queens Royals—featuring former Northfield Mount Hermon basketball standout Gus Larson—were defeated by the Purdue Boilermakers 104-71 in the NCAA Tournament.
The matchup was held at Enterprise Center at 7:35 p.m.
Larson recorded six points, three rebounds and one assist during his 11 minutes of play.
Olivia Ollerenshaw from rowing and Bridget Valentine from women’s lacrosse have been named UMass Student-Athletes of the Week. Both will be honored at an upcoming luncheon recognizing their recent athletic achievements.
Tuesday, April 14 will feature competition from these former West Massachusetts area high school standouts.
The University of Massachusetts women’s tennis team was defeated by Toledo in a Mid-American Conference match on April 12. The Minutewomen now have a season record of 15-4 as they prepare for their final regular-season game against Buffalo.
