Jake Lemelman, previously a standout at The MacDuffie School, took the court Thursday, Feb. 26, scoring 10 points as the Mercyhurst Lakers came up short, 80-78, against the Central Connecticut Blue Devils.
The 6′2″ sophomore guard logged 36 minutes, adding six assists and two rebounds to his stat line.
Mercyhurst will next face the Stonehill Skyhawks on the road, with tipoff scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28 at 2 p.m.
The UMass women’s lacrosse team claimed a decisive victory over Detroit Mercy with a final score of 22-3 on April 18. Dylan Lyons and Katie Peterson led an early offensive surge as head coach Jana Drummond praised her team’s execution. The Minutewomen extended their winning streak to nine games.
UMass softball split its doubleheader against Akron as Brooke Musch hit her first career home run—a walkoff grand slam—to clinch game one. Odyssey Torres reached her milestone hundredth collegiate hit during the series finale.
The Massachusetts rowing team earned victories in both the Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 4 races at Lake Quinsigamond on April 18. Other crews also delivered strong finishes ahead of their next competition at Eastern Sprints.
