K’Jei Parker of the Massachusetts men’s basketball team was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to an announcement on Mar. 24. Parker achieved this recognition for his academic success and performance on the court during the 2025-26 season.
The honor highlights student-athletes who excel both academically and athletically. To qualify, nominees must maintain a grade point average of at least 3.5 and participate in at least 90 percent of their team’s games.
Parker averaged 10.7 points per game this season, ranking fourth among his teammates in scoring. He also contributed with an average of 1.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists per contest, while shooting 44.5 percent from the field, making 40.8 percent of his three-point attempts, and converting free throws at a rate of 90 percent.
His three-point shooting percentage was second highest on the team, and he scored in double figures in more than half of UMass’s games—reaching or surpassing ten points in eighteen out of thirty-three contests. Notably, Parker recorded six games with twenty or more points and had a standout performance with thirty-one points against Coastal Carolina.
The selection recognizes student-athletes like Parker who balance rigorous academic standards with high-level athletic competition.
