Massachusetts football announces 2026 schedule including games against Rutgers and UConn

Massachusetts football announced on Mar. 24 its full schedule for the 2026 season, which will include a season opener against Rutgers and matchups with both conference and non-conference opponents.

The release of the new schedule gives fans and players an early look at key games, travel dates, and home contests for the Minutemen. The team is set to face several notable opponents throughout the fall.

The Minutemen will begin their season on Thursday, September 3, with an away game against Big Ten opponent Rutgers at SHI Stadium in Piscataway, New Jersey. Massachusetts will then host Sacred Heart on Saturday, September 12, followed by Stonehill on Saturday, September 19.

Conference play in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) starts with a road trip to Sacramento State on Saturday, September 26. The following two weeks feature home games at McGuirk Alumni Stadium against Eastern Michigan (October 3) and Miami (OH) (October 10). Massachusetts will visit Buffalo on October 17 before playing non-conference rival UConn away on October 24.

November brings a mix of home and away MAC matchups: Ball State visits Amherst on Wednesday, November 4; the Minutemen travel to Toledo for a Wednesday game on November 11; Akron comes to Amherst for Senior Night on November 18; and the regular season concludes at Bowling Green on November 28.

Game times and television coverage details are expected to be announced closer to each game day. Season ticket holders from the previous year will receive renewal information soon. Fans interested in new season tickets can complete an interest form through official channels. Additionally, Massachusetts football’s annual Spring Game is scheduled for noon on Saturday, April 25.
