Amy Moreau and Jordan Dean, both former standouts of the Massachusetts women’s lacrosse program, were selected in the Women’s Lacrosse League Supplemental Draft held on Wednesday. Moreau was chosen by the Boston Guard, while Dean was picked by the California Palms.

The selection of these two players highlights their successful collegiate careers at UMass. Their achievements have earned them recognition as they move forward into professional play.

Moreau concluded her time at UMass with several honors, including Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year and first team All-Conference in 2023. She recorded career highs during her senior season with 35 goals, 15 assists, and a total of 50 points. At graduation, she ranked among the top five in program history for career draw controls with 151 and placed sixth for career caused turnovers with 74.

Dean graduated in 2025 after accumulating a total of 209 draw controls during her final season, along with four goals and three assists. She received second team All-Atlantic 10 honors and was named Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week in consecutive weeks that March. In her junior year, Dean set an NCAA single-season record for draw controls with 261 and was recognized as a USA Lacrosse honorable mention All-American. Her career total of 664 draw controls stands as an NCAA record.

The Women’s Lacrosse League began play in 2025 and features four teams: Boston Guard, California Palms, New York Charging, and Maryland Charm. After an initial round robin from Feb. 27 to Mar. 8 this year, league competition will continue on May 15 at Centreville Bank Stadium through the summer.
