The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority launched a new bus route on March 30, adding service to Belchertown Center as part of its Holyoke-Ware line, according to an April 2 announcement.

The addition of Route B49 offers Belchertown residents another public transit option and connects them with other towns in the region. The service is available Monday through Friday, providing trips from early morning to evening but does not operate on weekends or holidays.

Route B49 runs between the Holyoke Transportation Center and Ware Town Hall, making stops at South Hadley’s Big Y and Belchertown Center. The fare for each ride is $1.50, though this amount may change in the future.

Residents can view the full schedule for Route B49 or use pvta.com for real-time tracking and trip planning tools. This expansion aims to improve transportation access within the community and neighboring areas.

Looking ahead, PVTA encourages riders to check their website regularly for updates regarding schedules or fare changes.
