Rep. Richard Neal, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts’ 1st district since 1989, posted a series of statements on his social media account addressing topics ranging from health care tax credits to a recent attack in Michigan.

The following day, on March 12, 2026, Neal commented on the cost comparison involving Affordable Care Act tax credits: “In other words, the price of nearly half a year of the ACA tax credits. https://t.co/CSd0ygLHaH”.
Later that evening, he addressed an incident in Michigan with a message condemning antisemitism and expressing solidarity with affected communities: “I am horrified by the antisemitic attack that took place in West Bloomfield, Michigan. My heart goes out to the Temple Israel community and Jewish communities around the world that are reeling from yet another act of senseless violence.
Antisemitism has no place in America, and”.
Neal’s public service began prior to his congressional tenure with his role in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Worcester in 1949 and currently residing in Springfield at age 74, he is an alumnus of American International College where he earned his bachelor’s degree.
