Neal has represented Massachusetts’ 1st district in Congress for over three decades after succeeding Edward Boland in 1989. Before his congressional tenure, he served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Worcester in 1949 and currently residing in Springfield, Neal holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from American International College.
