Rep. Richard Neal, who represents Massachusetts’ 1st district in the U.S. Congress, addressed several policy and public safety issues in a series of tweets posted on July 21 and July 22, 2025.
On July 21, Neal criticized Republican actions regarding energy policy, stating, “Democrats invested billions to assert ourselves as the leaders of the 21st century energy revolution and not cede ground to our global competitors. Republicans are irresponsibly undoing our progress in favor of technologies from the past. They’re threatening thousands of jobs”.
Later that day, he commented on recent Republican tax legislation: “Republicans did nothing but break promises in their ugly law:
No tax on tips? Still taxed, only temporary and limited deductions.
No tax on overtime? Still taxed, only partial and temporary deductions.
No tax on Social Security? Not even close.
Republicans want you”.
On July 22, Neal issued a public health advisory related to weather conditions in Massachusetts: “Dangerous heat is expected to return to Massachusetts this week. Make sure you are protecting yourself by:
Limiting time outdoors
Staying hydrated
Wearing loose-fitting clothing
Don’t let the dog days of summer catch you off guard!
