Rep. Richard Neal, U.S. Congressman representing Massachusetts’ 1st district, addressed two key issues in recent posts on his social media account: the progress of Compass Rail and criticism of Republican support for the President’s ongoing military actions.

On April 6, 2026, Neal highlighted infrastructure achievements by stating, “I was pleased to join @MassDOT and state and local officials for a roundtable discussion to highlight the progress of Compass Rail. With 8 ongoing projects and more than $150 million in federal funding over the last 5 years, we are delivering real, tangible progress. This”. He also shared a link for further information: “Read more: https://t.co/aYQqMBze9Y”.

The following day, on April 7, 2026, Neal criticized Republican lawmakers regarding foreign policy decisions: “This is beyond the pale. Enough is enough. Republicans have done nothing but enable the President’s war of choice, and for what? We are almost six weeks into this unauthorized war. No objectives. No endgame. Just reckless rhetoric and needlessly risking American lives. Speaker”.

Neal has represented Massachusetts’s 1st District in Congress since 1989 after serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. Born in Worcester in 1949 and currently residing in Springfield, he holds a BA from American International College.
