Graduates earn 582 degrees from Williams College

About 28.5 percent of the 582 degrees and certificates handed out by Williams College in 2017-18 were to students in social sciences programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Williamstown conferred 138 bachelor's degrees and 28 master's degrees in social sciences programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in econometrics and quantitative economics. Data shows the school gave out 80 bachelor's degrees in econometrics and quantitative economics, followed by 65 bachelor's degrees in general biology/biological sciences and 45 bachelor's degrees in computer science.

The college enrolled 2,149 students for 2017-18, including 2,095 in undergraduate programs and 54 in graduate programs.
