Recent graduate Jackie Bukzin '22 of the Amherst College women's tennis team has been honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) with the ITA Division III Northeast Region Senior of the Year award as well as a spot on the All-America team in singles.

All-America honors in singles are awarded to student-athletes who are seeded in the top eight in the NCAA individual singles tournament, win one round at the NCAA singles tournament or ITA Cup, finish in the top 20 of the final ITA rankings or win an ITA fall regional tournament.

Bukzin was seeded second in the NCAA singles tournament and ranked 12th in the nation in the final ITA rankings after posting a remarkable 18-2 singles record in her senior season, including a 6-0 mark in NESCAC play at top-flight singles.

Bukzin concludes her Amherst career as the only Mammoth in the Class of 2022 across all sports to earn All-America honors in each of her four years as she was named to the All-America team in both singles and doubles in each of her previous three seasons. She finished the season ranked sixth in the Northeast Region, one of four regions across the country, to earn the Regional Senior Player of the Year award. The Manorville, New York, native also earned her second NESCAC Player of the Year award this season and third First Team All-NESCAC selection in singles.

Bukzin was joined in the final ITA rankings by Amy Cui '25, who was ranked 27th in the nation and 8th in the Northeast Region in singles after posting a 15-14 singles record, including a 5-3 mark at top-flight singles, in her debut collegiate season. Both Bukzin and Cui were among the 32 student-athletes selected to compete in the NCAA individual singles tournament.

The Mammoths posted an overall record of 13-9 and a 7-3 mark in NESCAC play, taking on a grueling schedule that included eight matchups with top-10 teams during the regular season before reaching the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Tournament. Amherst finished the season ranked seventh in the nation and fourth in the Northeast Region by the ITA.
