Mammoths honored for performance on the track and in the classroom

 The Amherst College track and field teams have each been named All-Academic Teams and 18 Mammoths have earned individual All-Academic honors from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

All-Academic Team honors are awarded to teams with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.1 on a 4.0 scale. Amherst's women's team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.68 while the men's team notched a cumulative GPA of 3.62.

To earn individual recognition as an All-Academic Athlete, athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.3 and finish in the top 50 of an individual event or top 35 of a relay event in the final nationwide Division III rankings.

Earning All-Academic Athlete honors for the Mammoths are:

• Henry Buren '22, a philosophy major from Kansas City, Missouri, who posted top-50 times in the men's 60m indoors and 100m outdoors.

• Eliza Cardwell '25, from Charlotte, North Carolina, who qualified for the NCAA Championships in the women's 60m hurdles indoors, as well as the 100m hurdles and 400m hurdles outdoors, and also posted top-35 times in the long jump indoors and as part of the 4x400m relay team outdoors.

• Troy Colleran '22, a chemistry major from Boise, Idaho, who ranked among the top 50 in both the men's heptathlon and pole vault during the indoor season.

• Casie Eifrig '25, from Lemont, Pennsylvania, who competed in the women's 4x400m relay at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and was also part of a top-35 time in the distance medley relay indoors.

• Kelechi Eziri '23, a Black studies and psychology double major from Charlotte, North Carolina, who ranked in the top 30 in the men's triple jump in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.

• Juanita Jaramillo '22, an economics and psychology double major from Gaithersburg, Maryland, who was part of top-35 times in the women's 4x400m relay both indoors and outdoors and ranked in the top 50 in the 400m indoors.

• Sidnie Kulik '25, from Plymouth, Massachusetts, who was among the top 35 times in the women's 3000m indoors, 5000m outdoors and distance medley relay indoors.

• Katie Lingen '22, a biology major from Oak Park, Illinois, who was part of the women's 4x400m relay teams that competed at the NCAA Indoor Championships and posted a top-35 outdoor time.

• Anna Madden '22, a biology and psychology double major from Winchester, Massachusetts, who ranked in the top 50 in the women's 400m both indoors and outdoors and was part of top-35 relay teams in the 4x400m both indoors and outdoors and the distance medley relay indoors.

• Muffie Mazambani '24, a biology major from Harare, Zimbabwe, who ranked in the top 50 in the women's triple jump indoors.

• Mary Kate McGranahan '23, a computer science and economics double major from New York, who was among the top 40 times in the women's 3000m steeplechase during the outdoor season.

• Trintje Nydam '24, an economics and mathematics double major from Needham, Massachusetts, who ranked among the top 50 in the women's indoor pentathlon.

• Ellis Phillips-Gallucci '23, a philosophy major from Willimantic, Connecticut, who posted a top-30 time in the men's 400m hurdles outdoors.

• Annelise Romero '23, an environmental studies major from Stuart, Florida, who posted a top-50 mark in the women's indoor pentathlon.

• Julia Schor '25, from Denver, who was part of the women's distance medley team that posted a top-20 indoor time and recorded a top-40 time in the 1500m outdoors.

• Jack Trent '23, an economics major from Houston, who competed in the NCAA Indoor Championships in the men's heptathlon and posted a top-40 time in the decathlon outdoors.

• Sophia Wolmer '23, a neuroscience and philosophy double major from Tenafly, New Jersey, who posted top-30 times in the women's 5000m both indoors and outdoors, the 3000m indoors and the 10,000m outdoors.

• Julia Zacher '25, from Albany, New York, who qualified for the NCAA Championships in the women's high jump both indoors and outdoors.
