Ephs Seeded Third in NESCAC Volleyball Championship to be Played Nov. 4-6 at Wesleyan

Christi Kelsey's Williams women's volleyball team 13-7, 7-3 NESCAC has earned third seed in the NESCAC Championship to be played November 4-6 at top seeded Wesleyan University in Middletown, Conn. Kelsey's Ephs will enter tournament play riding a 4-match win streak.

 

Williams and the sixth seeded Middlebury Panthers (14-9, 5-5 NESCAC) will square off at 7:30 PM on Friday. In the regular season match between the Panthers and the Ephs played at Williams on September 16 the Ephs prevailed 3-1. All three Eph wins in match 1, 3 and 4 came by two points, while Middlebury captured the second match by a score of 25-19.

 

Junior MH/OPP Marit Hoyem led the Eph attack with 19 kills and 6 blocks, while classmate Celia Adams OH/OPP contributed 11 kills. The Panthers were led by Lexi Linafelter and Katie Kraczkowski who each recorded 11 kills.

Williams owns a 4-1 mark against Middlebury in the NESCAC Tournament, but suffered its first loss (3-0) to the Panthers in the championship series in the 2010 semifinals … The Ephs own the most NESCAC titles of any institution (11) and are looking to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2015.
