The #7 Amherst women's tennis team swept the Connecticut College Camels with a score of 9-0 on Sunday in New London, CT.


Amherst's record improves to 5-1 (3-0 in NESCAC) for the season. Up next: the Mammoths will look to continue their NESCAC success when they face the #8 Tufts University Jumbos. The game will take place on Saturday at 12:30pm on Amherst's outdoor courts (weather permitting).


HIGHLIGHTS:

  • The doubles matches took place on Conn's indoor courts - before play was moved to the outside courts for singles
  • First-year Sophie Diop and sophomore Deliala Friedman won their doubles match without dropping a game at the #3 spot
  • The closest match occurred at the #1 singles spot, in which sophomore Amy Cui prevailed 11-9 in a third-set match tiebreak
