The ratio of students to teachers in Conway Public Schools District rose by 14.3% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 145 students being taught by 13.9 teachers in Conway Public Schools District, which covers schools within Franklin County and has a main office in South Deerfield. That's an average of 10.4 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Conway Public Schools District had 125 students and 13.7 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

However, the state is facing a teacher shortage, just like the rest of the U.S. NewsNation reported that the state was offering emergency teaching licenses to educators who only had bachelor’s degrees, in an effort to get more teachers into schools.
