Student-to-teacher ratio in Lenox Public Schools District fell in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Lenox Public Schools District fell by 5.2% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 722 students being taught by 79.1 teachers in Lenox Public Schools District, which covers schools within Berkshire County and has a main office in Lenox. That's an average of 9.1 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Lenox Public Schools District had 750 students and 78.4 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
