2022: 56 coaches at institutions in Berkshire County earned on average $40,249

Berkshire County’s 56 coaches earned an average salary of $40,249 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fifth highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Massachusetts post-secondary schools during 2022.

Berkshire County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Williams College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $54,434.

Male coaches of men's teams received $44,679 on average in Berkshire County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $46,135.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
