Shutesbury Public School District: Which ethnic group was most represented in 2022-23 school year?

White was the most represented ethnicity among Shutesbury Public School District students in the 2022-23 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

In total, there were 107 white students enrolled, accounting for 86.3% of the district's student body.

The number of white students attending schools in the district increased 11.5% over the previous school year.

Meanwhile, Black or African American and American Indian or Alaska Native students were the least represented ethnic group within the schools in Shutesbury Public School District.

Shutesbury Public School District roughly covers schools within Franklin County, and has a main office in Erving.

The total number of students attending the district’s schools grew to 124 over the 2022-23 school year.

Students in Massachusetts are predominantly white, according to state data from 2023-24, representing 53% of the state's student body.

Across the state, Hispanic and Latino students saw the highest high school dropout rates.

Under representation is also found among educators in Massachusetts. The Rennie Center reported that only 7.8% of teachers identified as people of color in 2022.
