Rep. Richard Neal, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Massachusetts' 1st district, has been vocal on various political issues through his social media presence. Neal, who has served since 1989 after succeeding Edward Boland, often addresses economic and legislative matters.

On January 23, 2025, Rep. Neal criticized Republican tax cut strategies in a tweet: "How do Republicans fund a $4 trillion tax cut that benefits the top 2%? Cuts to Medicare Taxing free office gyms (yes, this is serious) Eliminating deduction of student loan interest Cuts on the backs of working people".

Later that day, he commented on Federal Reserve independence in response to actions by the President: "It’s called Federal Reserve independence, Mr. President. You don’t call the shots."

On January 24, 2025, Neal reflected on infrastructure achievements under President Biden while criticizing former President Trump's policies: "We did rebuild our infrastructure and we did put millions to work...under President Biden. It was the largest investment in our nation's infrastructure in more than six decades. Now, President Trump has ceased all funding from the BIPARTISAN Infrastructure Law."
