University of Massachusetts men’s lacrosse freshman Thomas Bagnall has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, according to a March 31 announcement from the conference.
The recognition marks Bagnall’s first career weekly honor and is the sixth weekly award earned by UMass players this season. Such awards highlight standout performances among collegiate athletes in their respective conferences.
Bagnall, who plays as a midfielder and attack, recorded his first collegiate hat trick during UMass’ recent 9-7 victory over St. Bonaventure. His performance included a man-down goal, two ground balls, and two caused turnovers in that game.
The Oakville, Ontario native contributed significantly to his team’s win and continues to be an asset for UMass as they progress through their season.
UMass is scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 4, hosting Saint Joseph’s at Garber Field with a game time set for 3 p.m.
