The University of Massachusetts softball team has released its schedule for the 2026 season, featuring a total of 51 games. Head coach Danielle Henderson announced that the Minutewomen will play 19 home games at Sortino Field, with 15 of those being Mid-American Conference (MAC) matchups.

The season will open with four tournaments. UMass will first participate in the River City Leadoff Tournament in Jacksonville, Florida, from February 6 to 8. The team then travels to Charleston, South Carolina, for the Low Country Classic from February 13 to 15. The tournament stretch continues at the Joan Joyce Classic in Boca Raton, Florida, and concludes at Madeira Beach, Florida, where Massachusetts is scheduled for five games from February 27 to March 1. During these tournaments, UMass will face teams such as Kansas, Florida Atlantic, Villanova, Sacred Heart and Colgate.

For the first time in program history, UMass will compete as a full member of the MAC after joining on July 1, 2025. Their conference debut is set for March 13 with a three-game series against Kent State in Kent, Ohio. The Minutewomen’s first home MAC series is scheduled against Toledo starting March 20.

UMass’s home schedule includes five MAC series: opening against Toledo on March 20-21; followed by Western Michigan (April 3-4), Buffalo (April 7-8), and Akron (April 17-18). Two regional rivalries are also on the calendar with Boston University visiting on April 28 and UConn on April 29. The regular season ends with a series against Ohio on May 1-2.

The MAC Championship is slated for May 6-9 at Firstone Stadium in Akron, Ohio.

“AMHERST, Mass. — The University of Massachusetts softball program released its 51-game slate for the 2026 season,” head coach Danielle Henderson announced Friday afternoon.
