The University of Massachusetts women’s lacrosse team secured the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Regular Season Championship with a 19-5 win over Kent State on April 25. The Minutewomen, who celebrated Senior Day, extended their winning streak to ten games and improved their overall record to 14-2, remaining undefeated in conference play at 7-0.

This victory ensures UMass will enter the upcoming MAC Tournament as the top seed. The tournament begins next Thursday and will be hosted by Robert Morris in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. UMass is set to face fourth-seeded Robert Morris in the semifinals at 11 a.m.

Senior Norah Prizzi led the offense with a career-high seven points, scoring three goals and providing four assists. Kassidy Morris contributed five goals and an assist, while Dylan Lyons added four goals for her third consecutive game with four or more scores. “Have a Senior Day Norah Prizzi… Career-high seven points… this behind-the-back beauty?!” said UMass Women’s Lacrosse via social media on April 25.

Scarlett Cifarelli recorded three assists—her best performance since joining UMass—while Sienna Diglio had two groundballs, four caused turnovers, one draw control, and two assists for her first multi-point game. Heather Clark scored her first career goal and also caused three turnovers along with Lyons.

The Minutewomen took control early in the match by scoring six unanswered goals within six minutes of play. By halftime they led Kent State by ten points (12-2), eventually outshooting their opponent 37-19 and holding a significant advantage in draw controls at 19-7. Cate Marshall reached sixth place in program history for single-season draws after recording seventeen during the game.

Looking ahead, UMass will compete in the MAC Semifinals against Robert Morris on Thursday; should they advance, they will play for the championship on Saturday at noon. All tournament games are scheduled to be broadcast live on ESPN+.
