Safe to Heal: Creating Restorative Spaces in honor of Native and

 Wednesday, November 30, 2022 12pm to 1:30pm 

This workshop will be facilitated by Labrador Inuk Ella Nathanael Alkiewicz (she/her) and will include reading and writing poetry to heal from trauma in a safe space.

Ella is a self-taught artist, social justice advocate, poet, and public speaker. She holds degrees in teaching, journalism, a certificate in Native American Indian studies, and an MFA in creative writing. She has taught four online classes for students at the North American Indian Center of Boston along with workshops at Amherst College, Beaver Country Day School, Lesley University, Mount Holyoke College, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She’s currently teaching an online class on poetry & painting from the ValleyCreates Project Evolution grant. Ella, a beneficiary of Nunatsiavut kavamanga, sells her acrylic paintings and Orange Shirt beaded pins across North America. She loves her life with her husband and tabby on the Nonotuck lands.
